Joris Guerin (IRD), invit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p><strong>R\u00e9sum\u00e9 :<\/strong><br \/>Face \u00e0 l\u2019accroissement des risques d\u2019inondations li\u00e9s aux changements climatiques, leur pr\u00e9vision pr\u00e9cise et rapide constitue un enjeu majeur pour la gestion op\u00e9rationnelle des risques associ\u00e9s. Cette th\u00e8se explore le potentiel des m\u00e9thodes d\u2019intelligence artificielle (IA), notamment les r\u00e9seaux de neurones r\u00e9currents (LSTM) et les r\u00e9seaux de neurones graphiques (GNN), afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la mod\u00e9lisation spatio-temporelle (d\u00e9bits, niveaux d\u2019eau, \u00e9tendues inond\u00e9es\u2026) des inondations.<br \/>Dans un premier temps, l\u2019\u00e9tude \u00e9value la sensibilit\u00e9 des performances des mod\u00e8les LSTM \u00e0 la dur\u00e9e et \u00e0 la diversit\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es d\u2019entra\u00eenement, en les comparant \u00e0 un mod\u00e8le pluie-d\u00e9bit conceptuel classique, Superflex. Si les LSTM surpassent le mod\u00e8le conceptuel avec des donn\u00e9es abondantes et repr\u00e9sentatives, atteignant un coefficient de Nash-Sutcliffe (NSE) de 0,89, ils subissent une forte d\u00e9gradation en situation de donn\u00e9es limit\u00e9es, avec une baisse moyenne de 0,14 du NSE \u2014 un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne beaucoup moins marqu\u00e9 avec Superflex. Ce constat soul\u00e8ve des questions majeures sur la robustesse des LSTM face aux \u00e9volutions climatiques futures.<br \/>Dans une seconde partie, un mod\u00e8le innovant fond\u00e9 sur les r\u00e9seaux de neurones graphiques, baptis\u00e9 HydroGCN, est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pour pr\u00e9dire les hauteurs d\u2019eau \u00e0 partir des d\u00e9bits, en exploitant la structure topologique des syst\u00e8mes hydrauliques. Test\u00e9 sur un canal synth\u00e9tique puis sur le bassin versant r\u00e9el de la Severn (Royaume-Uni), HydroGCN d\u00e9montre une capacit\u00e9 remarquable \u00e0 reproduire les dynamiques simul\u00e9es par un mod\u00e8le hydraulique \u00e0 surface libre de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence (Shallow Water 2-D: SW2D), avec un NSE atteignant 0,99, tout en offrant une diminution des temps de calcul d\u2019un facteur sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 80.<br \/>Ce travail met en lumi\u00e8re l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat d\u2019une mod\u00e9lisation explicite des relations spatiales via un graphe, tout en identifiant des axes d\u2019am\u00e9lioration, notamment l\u2019int\u00e9gration d\u2019interactions bidirectionnelles et l\u2019enrichissement des attributs physiques. Cette recherche ouvre ainsi la voie \u00e0 une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019outils de pr\u00e9vision des inondations, combinant rapidit\u00e9, pr\u00e9cision et adaptabilit\u00e9.
