En particulier dans la zone intertropicale, les pr\u00e9cipitations intenses qui la caract\u00e9risent, associ\u00e9 \u00e0 un d\u00e9veloppement urbain rapide et souvent mal maitris\u00e9 accro\u00eet le ruissellement de surface. Cette augmentation des ruissellements de surface sollicite d\u2019avantage les r\u00e9seaux de drainage qui sont souvent d\u00e9ficients. Le district d\u2019Abidjan qui suit la m\u00eame dynamique urbaine est expos\u00e9 aux inondations chaque ann\u00e9e. Cette situation n\u00e9cessite la mise en place d\u2019outils adapt\u00e9s pour l\u2019anticipation et la gestion efficace de cet al\u00e9as climatique. Cette th\u00e8se a pour objectif d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la compr\u00e9hension de la dynamique des pr\u00e9cipitations extr\u00eames et de leurs impacts hydrologiques dans le district d\u2019Abidjan afin de g\u00e9rer de fa\u00e7on efficace le risque d\u2019inondation. L\u2019analyse des pluies \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle journali\u00e8re et \u00e9v\u00e9nementielle combin\u00e9e la mod\u00e9lisation hydrologique spatialis\u00e9e avec le logiciel de mod\u00e9lisation Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) est adopt\u00e9 comme approche m\u00e9thodologique. Les r\u00e9sultats montrent que la Grande Saison des Pluies observ\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement d\u2019avril \u00e0 juin, concentre environ 70 % du risque hydrologique. Les pr\u00e9cipitations annuelles ont diminu\u00e9 sans hausse notable des extr\u00eames entre 1961 et 2014, confirmant ainsi l\u2019influence d\u00e9terminante d\u2019autres facteurs tels que de l\u2019urbanisation anarchique et de l\u2019imperm\u00e9abilisation des sols dans l\u2019aggravation du risque d\u2019inondation. L\u2019innovation m\u00e9thodologique de ces travaux est la construction de courbes Intensit\u00e9-Dur\u00e9e Fr\u00e9quence (IDF) \u00e0 partir de s\u00e9ries courtes de pluies de r\u00e9solution 2 minutes. Ces courbes permettent ensuite d\u2019\u00e9laborer des pluies de projet de pas de temps 5 minutes pour des p\u00e9riodes de retour de 1 an, 2 ans, 5 ans, 10 ans et 20 ans, adapt\u00e9es au contexte du district. La mod\u00e9lisation hydrologique a enfin permis d\u2019\u00e9valuer la capacit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau de drainage, d\u2019identifier ses points critiques et de quantifier l\u2019impact d\u2019une urbanisation future sur les d\u00e9bits de pointe. Ces travaux proposent un cadre m\u00e9thodologique reproductible et op\u00e9rationnel pour renforcer la r\u00e9silience des villes tropicales en voie de d\u00e9veloppement face aux inondations r\u00e9currente.<\/p><p><strong><em>Le jury sera compos\u00e9 de :<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>M.
