N\u00e9anmoins, les caract\u00e9ristiques structurales des aquif\u00e8res karstiques telles que la possible pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un aquif\u00e8re \u00e9pikarstique, d\u2019une \u00e9paisse zone non satur\u00e9e, de cavit\u00e9s remplies d\u2019air en profondeur et de mises en charge rapides et importantes posent des verrous scientifiques quant \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de traceurs gazeux en contexte karstique. Ces verrous soul\u00e8vent des questions fondamentales relatives aux processus d&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre air-eau lors du transfert d\u2019eau le long de la zone non satur\u00e9e et de formation d\u2019exc\u00e8s d\u2019air (EA). Pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces questions, deux sites d\u2019\u00e9tude ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9s&nbsp;: le bassin d\u2019alimentation du Durzon (Causse du Larzac) d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 dans une lithologie \u00e0 dominante dolomitique et le bassin d\u2019alimentation du Lez (Nord de Montpellier) d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 dans une lithologie \u00e0 dominante calcaire et soumis \u00e0 une pression anthropique (pompage pour l\u2019alimentation en eau potable). Ces sites pilotes font partie d\u2019observatoires nationaux (SNO H+ et SNO Karst respectivement) int\u00e9grant l\u2019organisation d\u2019OZCAR (Observatoires de la Zone Critique \u2013 Applications et Recherche). Ce travail de th\u00e8se s\u2019est appuy\u00e9 sur des mesures faites \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9chelles de temps et d\u2019espace&nbsp;: i) des mesures ponctuelles au cours du cycle hydrologique VS des mesures continues au cours d\u2019une crue&nbsp;; ii) des mesures \u00e0 la source int\u00e9grant l\u2019information de l\u2019ensemble du bassin d\u2019alimentation VS des mesures plus locales dans un forage ou dans des cavit\u00e9s karstiques int\u00e9grant l\u2019information \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle du drain ou de la matrice. Les signatures de gaz dissous sugg\u00e8rent que l\u2019air des conduits de la zone vadose du Durzon poss\u00e8de une composition similaire \u00e0 l\u2019air atmosph\u00e9rique et ceci jusqu\u2019\u00e0 120 m de profondeur. De plus, la mise en solution des gaz semble se faire dans un horizon proche de la surface (soit l\u2019\u00e9pikarst capacitif).&nbsp; Le suivi du signal d\u2019EA et sa mod\u00e9lisation \u00e0 la source du Durzon permet de sugg\u00e9rer que le processus de pi\u00e9geage de bulles d\u2019air est principalement \u00e0 mettre en lien avec des variations de pressions qui se produisent au sein de la zone noy\u00e9e du karst. D\u2019autre part, le suivi continu r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 la source du Lez en partenariat avec G\u00e9osciences Rennes et la plate-forme d\u2019analyse CondatEau \u00e0 l\u2019aide du CF-MIMS (Continuous Flow Membrane Inlet Mass Spectrometer) a permis d\u2019amorcer une approche de datation d\u2019un flux profond \u00e0 partir de donn\u00e9es d\u2019<sup>4<\/sup>He calibr\u00e9es par des donn\u00e9es de CFC.
