TRAINING

Master Eau

The Water Master’s course is divided into 4 semesters. During each year, the courses are divided into:

  • UEs common to the whole field (non-disciplinary transversal UEs), enabling students to acquire skills that will prepare them for integration into the professional world;
  • specialised courses aimed at acquiring specialised theoretical and practical knowledge
  • work placements in companies or research laboratories

The first year of the Master’s programme (M1) begins with a common core of knowledge for all students on the Water Master’s programme, regardless of the specialism chosen. It ends with a compulsory 2-month work placement in a company or laboratory, providing an initial immersion in the professional world.

The second year of the Master’s programme (M2) focuses mainly on specialisation and includes a compulsory 6-month work placement in a company or laboratory, defining the ‘Professional or Research’ profile of each student.

All courses are open to sandwich courses, starting in M1 or M2.

Licence Terre-Eau-Environnement

The Earth-Water-Environment degree trains students in the Geosciences and Hydrosciences in response to strong societal demand in the fields of natural resources, natural hazards, the environmental impact of human activities and global change. It also offers a multi-disciplinary pathway in the Life Sciences and Earth Sciences.
It draws on the research potential of several laboratories, GM (Géosciences Montpellier), HSM (HydroSciences Montpellier) and ISEM (Institut des Sciences de l’Evolution de Montpellier), to which most of the teaching and research staff in the degree are attached, thus facilitating links with the research themes and activities of these laboratories, as well as strong links with the local economic fabric via various networks (Pole Aqua Valley, Cluster Terinov, etc.).
Finally, it draws on the unique natural environment of the Montpellier region, which lends itself perfectly to the observation of exceptional natural environments.

This bachelor’s degree comprises three pathways:
– a general pathway entitled Earth, Water and Environmental Sciences (STEE), the main objective of which is to prepare students for the Earth, Planets and Environment Sciences (STPE) and Water Sciences Masters degrees,

– a vocational pathway in L3, entitled ‘Geosciences, Pollution Prevention and Treatment’ (GPTP), the main aim of which is to offer a professional opportunity at senior technician level in the field of water and pollution management,

– a course entitled ‘Cursus en Métiers de l’Enseignement en Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre’ (CME-SVT), the aim of which is to provide initial training for future teachers, leading to a Masters in Teaching, Education and Training (MEEF). This pathway is individualised from L2.

Master Ingénierie de la Santé

The Health Engineering Master’s degree is directed by Elena Gomez (HydroSciences, Professor, University of Montpellier) and Xavier Garric (Professor, University of Montpellier). HydroSciences is home to the Health and Environment Project Management (MPES) course, which offers a comprehensive training programme in the fields of quality, health, safety and the environment. The course trains multidisciplinary managers in the health and environment fields to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment. The emphasis is on risk assessment of chemical substances in accordance with the REACH registration system.

Diplôme d’ingénieur Génie de l’Eau

Polytech Montpellier’s Water Engineering diploma comprises 2 courses: the Water Sciences and Technologies course (STE) under student status and the Water and Civil Engineering course (EGC) under apprentice status.

Each year, these two pathways graduate 60 engineers who have completed 1800 hours of intensive training over 3 years at the school, supplemented by solid experience in a company (minimum 8 months). Graduates are recruited by companies in the water sector, including consultancy and engineering firms, public service contractors, local authority technical departments and large public bodies.
